"...unfortunately, I haven't read the first book, but trust me, after reading this one, I will be picking up the first one. This novella was very well written, and I thoroughly enjoyed the plot. The intimate scenes were tender and loving, something you wouldn't expect from a man with a "beast" in him that needs to feed."

"Lai has a firmer grasp of her world and the characters within it, gives a clearer purpose to the Guardians themselves and a stronger focus on the mate-bond. I look forward to more stories about the Guardians for certain!"

"Mrs. Lai, you truly surprise me! In such a short span you have managed to have me intrigued with your world(s) and with your characters, even the ones that deserved to live humiliation. I honestly say I could put myself in (almost) each character’s position and completely understand the reaction."

4.5 out of 5 tombstones from Megan
Bitten by Books

"I have to admit that after reading the title, His Ship, Her Fantasy, I thought it would be on the erotic side. I was so wrong but in a great way! Emma Lai writes a well balanced book about a woman who just wants to prove that she can do what everyone thinks is a man’s job. She is great at her job but spends way too much time at it. Alastair is that man and he needs to teach her that it is okay to stop and look at the stars. He wants her to stop keeping to herself and he wants to prove to her that she can let someone get close to her. Alastair and Ellie balance each perfectly."

"
Emma Lai's fluency and pace is rarely disrupted and her readers can only fall in love with her amazing hero, and go bat for the six foot amazon-heroine who learned that feeling 'willowy' was good."

4 out of 5 from Lexine
Night Owl Reviews

"For such a short story there is quite a bit to recommend it. The pacing is quick and stays on target, we learn enough about the 3 characters (Elle, Vance and Alatair). They are each fleshed out a little bit and the romance is sweet if a little a rushed."
